PROJECT 2

K.A.R.E. is currently expanding its efforts in providing aid and services to neighborhood seniors by creating a neighborhood food pantry and collecting non-perishable food items to low-income and homeless seniors. Our goal is to build 10 pantries within the 2017 year!

PROJECT 3

K.A.R.E. is also expanding its efforts in implementing a healthy eating curriculum for the Long Kong Tin Yee Association, mainly the elderly population. Its initiative, Chinese-American Elderly Eating Initiative, is aimed to improve nutrition amongst the elderly. We have created an organization aimed to serve and aid the elderly population through kind acts of care and nutrition-related services. We create lesson plans that teach Long Kong members how to cook and eat healthier. We recognize that many seniors consume over the recommended level of sodium and cholesterol, so K.A.R.E. has partnered with registered dietitians that aim to provide alternatives.
